Trapeze Group today announced that it has acquired Funkwerk Information Technologies York Ltd., a subsidiary of Funkwerk Technologies GmbH. The acquisition further enhances Trapeze’s enterprise offering with advanced planning, operational management and simulation software tools for the rail industry.
Funkwerk York has over 20 years of experience and extensive technological background in the rail IT sector. The company provides software solutions for planning, simulation and management of railway operations and infrastructure. Funkwerk York’s customers include regional and long-distance railway operators, tram, metro and freight operators and infrastructure providers worldwide.
The company’s products – RailPlan, PowerPlan, TrainPlan, TTRA, ResourcePlan, Crew Optimiser and ResourceManager – become part of the Trapeze portfolio of solutions for the rail industry. These solutions assist rail customers in building timetables, simulating railway operations, fleet planning and managing resources. “The rail market has been an area we have been looking to grow as part of our overall passenger transport offering,” said Mark Miller, Global CEO of Trapeze Group.
“With the acquisition of Funkwerk York we can now provide a richer portfolio of solutions to the rail industry. We welcome the team and their customers to Trapeze.”
“Trapeze’s strength in enterprise-wide passenger transport solutions across all modes of transport complements the Funkwerk York offering in rail,” said Ian Brown, Managing Director of Funkwerk Information Technologies York Ltd.
“We are excited to join an organisation that is so customer-focussed and shares our commitment to delivering solutions that truly make a difference for our customers and their end-users.”
