As bus operators across Australia and New Zealand accelerate their transition to Zero Emission Bus (ZEB) fleets, the need for intelligent, integrated, and cost-effective operational tools is growing rapidly.
TIMS is Trapeze’s bus-specific Enterprise Resource Planning solution that streamlines the management of complex, day-to-day public transport workflows and actions. With a roadmap encompassing ZEB readiness and seamless integration with external Charge Management Systems (CMS), TIMS will continue to empower bus operators as they pivot from older vehicles to managing ZEB fleets with confidence and precision.
Trapeze is introducing interfaces for clean, reliable data exchange between TIMS and third-party CMS platforms, allowing the system to share charge plans and receive actual State of Charge (SoC) data. The system checks against key constraints such as range and duty requirements, flagging any mismatches for early resolution.
This ensures planned requirements can be executed, and that real-time operational decisions are based on the most up-to-date information available.
Enhancing the TIMS Decision Support System means ensuring ZEB-specific factors can be accounted for when making vehicle allocation recommendations. This includes both planned charge information and actual SoC data, helping operations teams make smarter, cost-effective decisions without adding unnecessary complexity to their processes.
ZEB-related data is being progressively integrated within the TIMS user interface, ensuring each new feature is useful, intuitive, and easily actionable. This includes displaying planned and actual charge levels in key views like Despatch and Yard Manager.
The platform’s capability to deliver alerts when allocation rules are breached is being extended to include charge-related issues. If a vehicle’s charge status doesn’t align with the assigned shift, the system flags it so early action can be taken.
This help teams stay ahead of potential service disruptions, especially as more ZEBs are added to the fleet.
By integrating with CMS platforms, supporting charge-aware planning, and enhancing your team’s decision support, TIMS can help bus operators achieve greater operational efficiency while reducing costs.
The technology is available and so is our team, so get in touch with us today to begin the conversation.
